Spring is finally here in Orlando, which means so is the Pollen! We are all too familiar of that yellow/green glowing haze we’ve seen on cars, but did you know it can ruin the paint!

While there are a few popular types of pollen floating around, they are covered with tiny, microscopic prongs that allow them to cling to whatever they land on, which is typically your vehicle! Once attached, the acidity in pollen, combine with the humidity to literally eat away at the paint, causing premature oxidation and staining.

Safely Removing Pollen From Your Car

Sure, it may sound easy, just wipe it off. And it may even look better, but the fact is, wiping off pollen on dry paint ends up scratching and streaking the paint. Remember those microscopic prongs, the pressure from just wiping them off take the role of several million tiny spikes scratching your car. You may not be able to see it happening with your eyes, but it’s starting a domino effect ending in disaster for the once perfect paint on your car.

So, instead you just hose it off. While it may look great, we are back to those pesky prongs. Many of these mighty little warriors hang on tight. In fact, they are still there after a pressure washer with hot water is used! And it just gets worse, the water has now activated more of these acidic qualities.
